HCE Performance Announces the NSX Frunk Storage Case for NA1 and NA2 Honda NSX Models

San Francisco, California — HCE Performance today announced the release of the new NSX Frunk Storage Case, a premium bolt-in storage solution developed specifically for NA1 and NA2 Honda NSX models.

Designed for owners who have removed the OEM spare tire and bracket, the HCE NSX Frunk Storage Case transforms the unused front compartment space into a clean, enclosed, purpose-built storage area for real-world driving essentials.

For many NSX owners, removing the spare tire opens up a surprisingly useful amount of room in the front compartment, but it also leaves behind an awkward empty space with no organized way to store tools, fluids, repair kits, or roadside gear. The result is that many owners end up placing those items in the rear trunk, where leaking bottles, loose tools, or dirty equipment can damage carpet, trim, or luggage.

The HCE NSX Frunk Storage Case solves that problem by creating a dedicated enclosed compartment up front that looks integrated with the factory design of the NSX.

“For an NSX that actually gets driven, storage matters,” said HCE Performance. “Whether it’s a road trip, weekend canyon drive, or track event, owners need a clean and secure place for tire repair kits, compact compressors, tools, fluids, gloves, microfiber towels, detailing spray, jump packs, and all the small things that come with using the car. We wanted something that felt engineered specifically for the NSX rather than an afterthought.”

The case mounts directly to the factory spare tire bracket mounting points using four barrel screws with no drilling or permanent modifications required. NA2 models use a different battery support pan configuration and require an optional adapter kit for no-drill installation.

Each case is constructed from 5052 aluminum and formed with compound curvature to match the geometry of the NSX front compartment. The enclosure is laser welded to maintain precise seams, crisp edges, and minimal heat distortion before being powder coated and hand assembled.

Inside the enclosure, a neoprene base insert helps reduce sliding and rattling from stored items during driving.

The standard finish is a light-texture black powder coat designed to blend naturally with the surrounding OEM frunk components. Additional launch colors will be offered in limited quantities.

Development of the NSX Frunk Storage Case involved more than 22 design iterations and double-digit prototype revisions to refine fitment, structure, airflow considerations, and overall integration within the NSX front compartment.

During testing, the enclosure showed no measurable impact on coolant temperatures or cooling performance. Internal enclosure temperatures averaged approximately 85°F across multiple weather testing days, while maintaining compatibility with the NSX radiator airflow path.
